SBP-GSK Center for Translational Neuroscience to study brain disorders
LA JOLLA, Calif. — GlaxoSmithKline is teaming up with the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute to study brain function and ways to potentially reverse or slow down neurodegeneration.
The London-based pharmaceutical company, which has operations in Philadelphia and Montgomery County, and the independent nonprofit medical research organization has created the SBP-GSK Center for Translational Neuroscience to identify and validate new targets for treating neurological disorders.
The center will be based at the institute’s campus in La Jolla, Calif.
